dialogue by design

Dialogue is not the same as discussion – it is less percussive, more gentle, allows for exchange and sharing. Making opportunities for conversations that focus consious, loving attention on the community in which we live means designing places for dialogue. One Saturday the vicar and the curate opened up St Barnabas Church and I held a dialogue event for all who loved Jericho to drop by and share what was in their hearts. I set up benches, on each a little box containing question cards designed to prompt reflection, alone or together, and open up conversations about their heartfelt feelings about their community. (Question cards can be downloaded from the bits and pieces post.)
